Tyler and Noel Head to Red Dirt Country

Apr 19, 2011

Have you noticed how many presentations and training sessions Obtiva has been leading around the world?

Well, here's another: Tyler Jennings and Noel Rappin are puttin' their boots on and heading to Oklahoma City for Red Dirt RubyConf  April 21-22.

Tyler conducts a training session that covers JRuby for the Ruby Developer. He'll cover the basics of integration with Java and show how to build a Java desktop app using Swing from Ruby, as well as how to use JRuby to run your Rails apps.

Noel presents a talk titled, "Using BDD in JavaScript from Ruby" that explains how to use RSpec and Jasmine to use your own Rails views as data for Jasmine JavaScript tests. After the session, Noel participates in a panel discussion.

Red Dirt is an outstanding conference packed with content. Sessions focus on Ruby implementations, Rails extensions, JavaScript and cloud services. It features two A-list keynoters: Aaron Patterson of AT&T Interactive and Dr. Nic Williams of EngineYard. There's a hackfest sponsored by HP, and perhaps best of all, Obtiva sponsors an ice cream social break on day one.
